Dr Chu Ei Yet was in the banking industry before joining academia in 1996. He started his academic career in Faculty of Economics and Business, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, before transferring to Graduate School of Business, Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2012. Dr Chu has taught courses mainly in corporate finance, international financial management, investment management, managerial economics, ASEAN Business System and Seminar in Financial decision making for DBA program. His research and publication interests focus on firms’ level analysis, which covers merger and acquisition, capital structure, earnings management, and executive compensations. He had secured national grants from Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and Ministry of Education. He has also engaged in the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy’s manpower planning project (2008-2010), Intel Malaysia (2014) (2020) and Silterra Malaysia (2016) Economics Impact studies.
