Biography

As an academic, Meenchee specialises in Managerial Economics, Industrial Economics and ASEAN Business Systems. Meenchee worked in Singapore for two years after she obtained her bachelor’s degree. With her passion for research, she enrolled herself in a master program in USM. Later, she joined an international non-profit research organisation that assists in poverty and hunger reduction as a researcher. From there, she gained knowledge and experience in producing impactful research related to sustainable development, working with people from a multicultural background, and managing cross-disciplinary and cross-institution projects. She continues her passion for knowledge sharing and research, particularly in the areas of industrial economics, sustainable consumption and production, and international trade since joining USM. As an economist and an educator, Meenchee is inspired by Prof. John Forbes Nash and Prof. Amartya Sen. She believes that research enriches her teaching and that the right knowledge is the key to success.
