Dr. Karpal Singh has been in the realm of academia for the past 20 years where he has taught all types of students from diploma, degree, executive diploma and Masters programmes. He has also been a research supervisor for student research projects and dissertations. Karpal has also lectured in several MBA programmes awarded by Nottingham – Trent University, University of Sunshine Coast, University of Southern Queensland, and University of Derby, UK to name a few in various colleges in Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh. Until recently, Karpal was the Director of Studies at Sentral College Penang. Dr. Karpal is presently a Senior Lecturer and Programme Manager in the Graduate School of Business, Universiti Sains Malaysia where he actively contributes towards academic, research and revenue generating initiatives in the School.

Involved in training and development initiatives and have designed and delivered various training programmes based on client’s training needs namely within academic, services and manufacturing environments i.e. Marketing and Sales Training, Effective Customer Service, Leadership and Personal Development, Mentoring Relationships, Teambuilding and Academic Staff Development Programs. Some of the clients he has served include; Kolej Aman, Sarjana, Peaceful Field Sdn Bhd. CSR Global Solutions, Penang Skills Development Center (PSDC), Bionexus, Intel, Dell, Jabil, the former Southern Bank (now CIMB), Weng Keong Skills Goldsmith Sdn Bhd, Escatec Electronics, and KPJ Nursing College, just to name a few.

Advised employees wrongfully dismissed as well as employers on HR and IR related matters. Appointed as a Panelist for Domestic Inquiry conducted at Escatec Sdn Bhd (MNC) in a case involving a senior management employee (2011).
Advised the HR Manager, General Manager and Branch Manager of RNC INTEGRAL CONCRETE TECHNOLOGY (M) SDN BHD on domestic inquiry and employee termination procedures as per Industrial Relations Act. (June, 2019).
