Salmi teaches in the Master of Business Administration and Master of Cognitive Neurosciences programs, specializing in marketing research. She has published in leading journals such as Tourism Geographies, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management, The Service Industries Journal, and International Journal of Consumer Studies. Salmi serves on the Editorial Boards of Neuroscience Research Notes, Asian Journal of Accounting Perspectives, and Journal of Global Marketing. She has secured several competitive international and local research grants, totaling over RM 1 million to date, and is an affiliated member of the University of Glasgow for various projects. Her research interests cover a broad range of marketing topics, including tourism marketing, neuromarketing, business ethics, marketing innovation, marketing communication, branding, and consumer behaviour. Prior to her academic career, Salmi gained significant industry experience at MIMOS Berhad, Malaysia’s leading research and development organisation. Recently, her work has focused on neuromarketing, using eye-tracking and electroencephalogram (EEG) techniques to gain deeper insights into consumer behaviour.
